My mother spent thirty minutes waking me up this morning for school, and when I finally got up and took a shower, she screams that there is no school because some idiots held a military coup.

I didn’t really care because I was still sleepy, so I crawled back to bed and slept for a few more hours. When I woke up, the President already declared a state of emergency or Proclamation 1017.

Let me give you a layman’s understanding of all the events that led up to this:
+ Sometime last year, somebody found a tape of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo (GMA) speaking to Election Comissioner Garcillano. Apparently, she was trying to cheat her way through the elections.
+ People freaked out and insisted that she step down from office because she cheated–even though there wasn’t any proof of that.
+ Because of all the rallies people were holding, GMA made this law that people have to get permits from the Palace before they can hold rallies. People got even more upset, because it was a violation of their human rights, or whatever.
+ I woke up this morning to a coup.

Okay, maybe I don’t know enough about politics to even blog about what I think of this whole thing. But screw that. I am so pissed. No, not with the fact that the President declared a state of emergency and violated my rights as a human being. But because the people who provoked her to do so are fucking morons. Seriously, I think GMA was doing us all a HUGE favor by issuing permits to rally. Because really–not all of us give a shit about whatever the hell you’re whining about! You wanna improve the Philippines? Then why don’t you just do your fucking jobs or go to school and be a good student instead of going to the streets and bitching abut how corrupt our government is! No matter how much you take to EDSA, there will always be government officials cheating their way through their positions and embezzling money from the taxes. Nobody cares what you’re complaining about this time. GET OVER IT.

I have a horrible feeling that people just missed the events that led up to the first EDSA revolution, which is why they’re doing all this stupid shit to provoke GMA into being the next Marcos. Well damn. Maybe EDSA 1 was the only way to get rid of a dictator. But just because it worked once, doesn’t mean it’ll work again. Stupid shits.

The moment I garner enough money, I’m taking the first plane out of here.

And because of all this bad press, I don’t see Placebo going to the Philippines while I’m still stuck here.
